The Baby King

Just received some potentially troubling news and no matter what time of year it is when that happens, my typical reaction is to run to Jesus, He is after all, the ultimate physician and healer.  So naturally that is where I turn.

Interestingly though, at this time of year we tend to think of Him as a baby in a manger.  Crying when hungry, utterly helpless, and unable to really care for himself.  What a stark contrast to who He really is...the one with direct access to my Heavenly Father.  The one who commands the heavenly hosts.  The one who was there at the beginning of creation.  And the healer of anything that ails me.  I am sure glad He is not still a helpless baby in a manger, but a risen Savior capable of fighting on my behalf and warring with me against the darkness around me.

Celebrate the baby, but remember to worship the King!  Merry Christmas!
