No one said it would be easy...

But NO ONE said it would be this hard!

The yuck of life is sometimes overwhelming.  You are walking along, living life and BAM, you land in a pit.  A mud filled, gross, disgusting, nasty pit.  And as you sit there, dazed and confused and wondering what to do, you probably even wallow around in the mud for a while - if you are anything like me, and then you finally look up.  You look up into the beautiful blue sky that you had forgotten all about and you see a hand reach in and it gives you hope.  A loving God who sacrificed His only son so that we would be able to be pulled from the pit, washed and cleaned, perfumed, dressed and adorned with jewels.  Now THAT is a transformation I can deal with.

But before we ever really get to see that transformation, the enemy starts to speak.  He lies to us.  He tells us we are no good, that we are worthless, that we deserve to be in that pit.  We hear what he speaks and we believe it to be truth.  So much so that we start running  around in the pit trying to avoid the gift and offer of help from the only one who can give it.  David understood this and He reached out to God and received his deliverance from the pit.

Psalms 40:1-3 says:
I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.

Today, as I sit in my pit of frustration, I too am reminded that God has placed me on a rock and that I am His chosen child.  My "problems" are nothing compared to the love of a holy and just God.  Thank you for reminding me to let you help me and for helping me to remember that you are using all these situations to scrape the "yuck" from my life.  I will love you no matter what.  I will love you!
