Now that is the kind of forceful wind I can use in my life today. There are things I want the Lord to carry off into the Red Sea, never to be dealt with again. I have long fought up hill battles with dangerous pests that need to be destroyed instead of letting them destroy me.
So Lord, I thank you today for the winds of change in my life. I thank you for the physical reminder of the spiritual state in my life and for showing me that sometimes the gentle breezes cannot always bring about the change I really need.
Help me to see the change for what it really is - your hand lovingly removing those things that I no longer need to have in my possession. Help me to surrender daily to the changes and winds you bring my way - be they gentle or full of fury. And protect those who are currently in the physical path of the hurricane winds of Sandy and keep them safe from harm. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
