Challenge Accepted: Giving Thanks for Health - Day 1

I am going to take the next month and find something to be thankful for in my crazy, sometimes messed up, but always lovely world and I hope to start a new trend of exemplifying a more grateful attitude in my everyday life.

Phillipians tells us "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;" and let's face it if you are anything like me, we tend to exhibit a thankful heart toward God because we hope that our grattitude of things will cover our motivation that is probably more like a laundry list of things we need from God.  I don't want to be like that.  I want pure motives, motives lovingly steeped in the rich aroma of a truly thankful heart.
Today, I am thankful for my health.

Spending time in physical torture, I mean therapy, I realized just how blessed I truly am.  I am mobile, I am not in excruciating pain, and God has provided people (doctors and therapists) who are able to push me to better take care of my knees so that I can KEEP them healthy.  I watched those around me of every age, size, shape and injury and I realized that although this is an uncomfortable situation for me, it is not unbearable and in the end, I am made stronger through it.

Lord, help me to ever be grateful for the body you have given to me and help me to take care of this temple so that you may be glorified everyday for many years to come!
