So there is a saying that goes something like this: Wisdom and Consequence are both excellent teachers. Consequence just causes more pain.
This weekend I had the honor and privilege to spend my time with a great number of amazing minds. People who were willing to share their knowledge, wisdom and ideas with a room full of youth workers. I was in awe of the things I have yet to learn even after all my years of doing ministry.
I have much to learn, but how much better will it be for me during the next year after having spent time listening, marinating and soaking up all that wisdom and experience instead of trying to stumble and fail all alone my own. Youth ministry is certainly best lived out really taking to heart the experiences of those who have gone before you rather than relying on your own OJT.
