The method doesn't change us...but the message permanently alters our entire being for all eternity.
Methods can be good. They teach us discipline. They help us focus. They help those of us who are creatures of habit to grow and stretch and change. We all love change and stretching. Right?
But here in lies the quandary we face. Are we willing to let God speak a message of newness into our lives or do we choose to use the methods we have always used to help us get through the day. Which one is really going to work for us? Has our method every really been successful at anything more than taking our minds off of whatever is bothering us for a short time? But God's message, now that can change you for eternity.
I choose the message. A new word from God. A new hope of things to come. A new day with new promise of His desire for me.
